What is not covered by the Ford Warranty?

Warranty coverage is provided for any part found to be defective in factory-supplied material or workmanship during your warranty period. It does not cover damage caused by the environment, alterations and modifications, maintenance and wear items, and other condtions listed below.

Non-Warrantable Concerns Ejemplos  
Damage caused by an outside source
  • Accidents, collisions, or objects striking the vehicle
  • Theft, vandalism, or riot
  • Fire or explosion
  • Using contaminated or improper fuel/fluids
  • Driving through water deep enough to cause water to be ingested into the engine
  • Improper maintenance
  • Environmental damage (e.g., road salt, tree sap, lightning, hail, windstorm, earthquake, freezing, water, or flood)
  •  Road hazards (e.g., stone chips, scratches, dings, or dents)
Damage caused by alteration or modification
  • Installation or use of non-Ford parts or software such as oversized tires, alarm systems, and automatic starting systems
  • Tampering with the vehicle
Maintenance and wear items
  • Oil changes
  • Oils, lubricants, and other fluids
  • Engine tune-up
  • Tire rotation/inflation
  • Cleaning/polishing
