Ford Police Interceptors are the only vehicles in the world engineered to meet this test.* In addition, the SPACE (Side Protection And Cabin Enhancement) Architecture,® with structural reinforcement, works to protect officers on the job.
*The full-size spare tire secured in the factory location is necessary to achieve police-rated 75-MPH rear-impact crash-test performance attributes.

Available Level IV+ Ballistic Door Panels

Tested and meets the requirements of NIJ Standard 0108.01 Level IV:

  • .30-06 M2 AP 166 gr. (7.62 x 63 APM2 10.8 g)

Per LAPD requirements, they’re also designed to withstand special threat rounds:

  • 7.62 x 54R LPS 9.65 g
  • 7.62 x 51 mm M61 9.75 g (.308 Winchester 150.5 gr.)

In addition, Level IV includes all of the NIJ Level III and LAPD rounds listed in Level III.

Advanced safety technology helps absorb the energy of a collision and to direct the impact forces away from the occupants. Additionally, crumple zones are strategically placed in the frame or body of the vehicle, further absorbing and dissipating the energy of a crash to reduce intrusion into the occupant compartment.

Personal Safety System

The standard Personal Safety System employs a network of sophisticated sensors that controls the operation of the vehicle's airbags* and front safety belts. It assesses the size of the occupant in the passenger seat, determining what airbags to deploy during a collision. Sensors are also programmed specifically to distinguish between rounds being fired from a gun and the impact of a collision, to prevent inadvertent deployment during a firefight.

Safety Canopy® System

The standard Ford Safety Canopy System deploys side-curtain airbags for outside passenger head protection in the event of a rollover accident. Están diseñadas para inflarse entre la cabeza del pasajero y la ventana lateral, aún cuando la cabeza esté apoyada sobre la ventana.
