What is covered by Ford's warranty?

Ford will repair or replace covered parts found to be defective in factory-supplied materials or workmanship during the warranty coverage period, which varies based on the part being repaired.

Warranty Coverage Periods

The list below provides a summary of warranty coverage provided by Ford Motor Company. Warranty expiration is based on time or mileage, whichever occurs first. Coverage begins on your Fecha de Inicio de la Garantía, also known as the in-service date.

  • New Vehicle Limited Warranty: 3 years/36,000 miles
  • Powertrain Warranty: 5 years/60,000 miles
  • Power Stroke® Diesel Warranty: 5 years/100,000 miles
  • Corrosion Warranty: 5 years regardless of mileage
  • Safety Restraint Warranty (safety belts and airbag supplemental restraint system): 5 years/60,000 miles
  • Emissions Warranty: Coverage varies by vehicle
  • Hybrid/Electric Unique Components: 8 years/100,000 miles

Note: This list does not include additional coverage offered by a Plan de Servicio Extendido Ford Protect.

Finding Your Warranty Coverage

  2. Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or log on to your account.
  3. Scroll down to the "Vehicle Checklist" section. Swipe right (mobile devices) or click the right arrow (computers) until you see your Warranty Start Date.
  4. Refer to the warranty coverage periods above to see how much warranty is left on your vehicle.

Finding Your Warranty Expiration Date

The warranty expiration date is determined by your vehicle's Fecha de Inicio de la Garantía, also known as the in-service date, and the mileage on your vehicle. To find out when your warranty expires, contact your Concesionario Ford or the Ford Customer Relationship Center using our Chat en Vivo option or by calling 1-800-392-3673.
