How do I turn off automatic Software Updates in my Ford?

If you choose to have full control of the Actualizaciones de Software for your SYNC®* system and want to know the details before the update, you can turn off automatic updates on your SYNC screen.

Disabling Automatic Software Updates

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below. If you need assistance identifying your SYNC generation, refer to the Guía de Referencia Visual de SYNC.

If your SYNC generation is not listed, it does not receive Actualizaciones de Software.

SYNC 4A

  1. Tap either the Settings or the Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Systems Updates.
  3. Toggle the Automatic Updates slider to Off. A confirmation pop-up will appear.
  4. Tap Continue to confirm.

You can use the System Updates section in your SYNC settings to view available updates in the future.
