2021—2022 Ford E-Series® — Hydroboost Line Leak Recall
Recall Reference Number: 24S07
Offering every owner excellence and a reliable experience matters to Ford, so we have issued a safety recall for some 2021–2022 Ford E-Series vehicles.
In some vehicles, the fitting between the power steering pressure line and the brake Hydroboost unit may not have been properly connected. This could cause a leak or sudden loss of power steering fluid.
Parts are now available, and customers can take advantage of complimentary pickup and delivery at participating dealerships. If your vehicle passed the 22S08 Safety Recall before January 29, 2023, you will not need to have this work done since the chance of a failure is extremely low. In the unlikely event that this issue surfaces in the future, we will make a one-time repair. To see if your vehicle is included, enter your VIN here.

What is the issue tied to this recall?
There may be a leak or sudden loss of power steering fluid in affected vehicles because the power steering pressure line may not be fully connected to the brake Hydroboost unit.

Didn’t Ford issue recall #22S08 that was supposed to address this issue?
Yes, however, part of the remedy for 22S08 was to inspect power steering lines and the connection between the power steering lines at the Hydroboost unit and replace them if necessary. Vehicles included in this new recall, 24S07, will automatically have parts replaced with no need for an inspection.
Do customers need to complete both 22S08 and 24S07?
It depends on when 22S08 was completed. Vehicles that received a passing inspection for 22S08 on or after January 29, 2023, and those that have not yet completed 22S08 will need to complete rcall 24S07.
What if my vehicle was inspected prior to January 29, 2023 and has the issue?
Ford is offering a one-time repair to address the small number of vehicles that may experience a leak or disconnection of the power steering lines at the Hydroboost unit more than one year after their 22S08 inspection.
Is there a warning or alert for customers?
Customers may see a power steering fluid leak on the ground below the vehicle. Some drivers report hearing an audible "pop" if the power steering pressure line fitting becomes disconnected while driving.
When will parts be available?
We expect parts to be available sometime in June 2024.
When will you notify customers?
Customers were notified by mail on March 25.
Is mobile service available?
No, this repair will not be eligible for mobile service.
Is free pickup and delivery an option for customers for this recall?
