Why does the 3G modem on my Ford no longer work?
The North America 3G cellular service was decommissioned in February 2022.
Vehicles on the road equipped with a 3G embedded modem have lost mobile app functionality and connectivity (e.g., using MyFord®* Mobile, being able to remote start or stop your vehicle, program your electric vehicle's charging, etc.).
You may be involved in a Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) that will cover the cost of labor to install a 4G upgrade kit (modem and antenna). You would still be responsible for buying the kit.
To see if you have coverage under this CSP, visit the Ford Support website and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or log in to your account.
