Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company Lincoln has authorized your dealer retailer to inspect and secure or replace the trailer tow hitch bolts as required free of charge.

On your vehicle, it may be possible an error in the SYNC software can cause SYNC system instability concerns and or a failure to preserve certain settings across ignition cycles. This may result in an intermittent blank image while in reverse or rear-view image remaining on display after reverse driving has ended. Other non-safety related symptoms may be present such as a black infotainment screen, incorrect language setting, and or potential inability to perform software updates.

In the affected vehicles, the unfused 12 volt battery cable is not secured properly and may contact the starter generator.

If the battery cable contacts the starter generator during vehicle operation, it may cause damage to the battery cable insulation, creating the potential for a short circuit and increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to move the battery cable away from the starter generator and secure the cable to the adjacent high voltage cable free of charge parts and labor.

On your vehicle, it is possible that the easy entry seat fold switch on the second-row outboard seats may bind or stick if its surrounding trim bezel was installed incorrectly. If the button is stuck in the down position, the seat may unlatch, fold and or slide unexpectedly, potentially while driving. Below is a section from an owners manual describing the feature.

A seat that unexpectedly folds or slides while driving could increase the risk of injury, particularly in a crash.

Remedy

Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect the second-row seat easy entry bezel for correct installation. Dealers will replace the bezel and or housing if it is damaged or missing free of charge. Following inspection replacement, dealers will ensure proper operation of the switch free of charge.

Ford has authorized your dealer to perform one of the two following remedies parts are not available. Ford Motor Company is working to provide parts for this repair. When the remedy becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge. The remedy is anticipated to be available by the second quarter of 2026. An alternative remedy is also available for owners who would like to disable the vehicles block heater. For those customers that choose this option, Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to remove the block heater element and power cable and install a threaded plug free of charge.
