Description
Orscheln products supplied to Ford a copy of a defect information report NHTSA16E019 it submitted to NHTSA regarding parking brake cable connector clips. This parking brake cable connector clip was used in lever and cable assemblies installed in certain 2015 and 2016 model year Ford F650 and 750 trucks. Although Ford does not have any reports of broken parking brake cable connector clips in the suspect population identified by orscheln, it is undertaking a field action to address the potential defect identified by orscheln.
Safety Risk
For vehicles equipped with a transmission that does not have a park position, or one that does have a park position but the transmission lever is not placed in park,a broken parking brake cable connector clip could result in unintended movement of the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace your vehicles parking break cable union free of charge parts and labor.
