Description
On your vehicle, the front half shafts may not have been fully inserted into the transmission during assembly.
Safety Risk
If an improperly inserted half shafts splines wear out completely or the half-shaft moves out of the transmission, there is a possibility of loss of motive power while driving. This condition can also result in a vehicle rollaway when the vehicle is placed in park without the park brake being applied. Loss of motive power while driving or a roll in park can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect the front half shafts and replace them if they are not fully inserted, free of charge.
