How do I get the latest map updates for my SYNC Navigation system?

Based on your SYNC®* generation, you may either receive updates automatically or you will need to request them online.

You will automatically receive map updates through software updates during your free trial and subscribed service periods**.

SYNC 3

To update your Navigation maps with a USB drive or digital download:

  1. Go to the SYNC and Navigation Update page, and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
  2. Selecciona Consultar actualización.
    • If your SYNC Navigation is updated to the latest version, you will see a green checkmark and a message stating that an update is not available.
    • If there is an update available for your SYNC Navigation, you will see a triangle with an exclamation point in it next to Check for Map Updates. Proceed with the next steps.

      Important: If you see "SYNC Update Available" under SYNC Updates, complete the SYNC software update before performing the Navigation update.
       
  3. Elige Verificar Actualizaciones de Mapas en Actualizaciones de Navegación.
  4. Selecciona Comenzar. Serás dirigido a la Tienda de Navegación de Ford.
  5. Ingresa tu VIN y selecciona Consultar las Actualizaciones Disponibles.
  6. Selecciona un método de actualización (unidad USB o descarga digital).
  7. Follow the installation instructions provided to you when you downloaded the digital update or via email if purchasing a USB drive.

SYNC with Voice-Activated Navigation | SYNC with MyFord Touch®| SYNC with MyFord | SYNC with Navigation "P" | SYNC Gen 1.1 | SYNC Gen 1

An SD card is required to update your navigation maps. To purchase an SD card on the Ford Navigation website:

  1. Go to the SYNC and Navigation Update page and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
  2. Update SYNC to the most current version if SYNC Update Available is displayed under SYNC Updates.
  3. Selecciona Consultar actualización.
    • If your SYNC Navigation is updated to the latest version, you will see a green checkmark and a message stating that an update is not available.
    • If there is an update available for your SYNC Navigation, you will see a triangle with an exclamation point in it next to Check for Map Updates. Proceed with the next steps.

  4. Visit the Ford Navigation website.
  5. Ingresa el año y el modelo de tu vehículo en la barra de búsqueda.

  7. Completa el proceso de pago. Te enviaremos por correo la actualización de mapas.
