Recall Reference Number: 24S37
Building vehicles you can count on is one of our most important jobs, which is why Ford has issued a safety recall for some 2014 Ford F-150® models.
An intermittent failure of the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor in the transmission may result in an unintended downshift to first gear. This can cause the rear tires to slide until the vehicle speed slows down and could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
To have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software updated in your vehicle, you can book your appointment in the Ford app, online, or by calling an authorized Ford Dealership. Dealers will also perform a diagnostic test to determine if an additional repair to the transmission is necessary.
Complimentary Ford Pickup and Delivery and/or Ford Mobile Service may be provided at participating Ford Dealers and Lincoln Retailers.
