Why are third-party apps blocked from using my Ford app login information?
Using third-party apps with your Ford app credentials increases account security risks and may cause additional load on your vehicle's electrical system, modem, and battery. This additional load may cause vehicle reliability and battery drain concerns.
You may have used your Ford app username and password with third-party apps or websites, such as personal car rental, car insurance, or power company apps, to share vehicle data from the vehicle modem.
As of May 7, 2024, Ford has blocked third-party apps from using the Ford app credentials. This does not impact your direct access to the Ford app or ford.com.
