How do I precondition my electric Ford before driving?

Whether you are charging at home or work, your all-electric Ford can precondition itself through the Ford app^* or your vehicle's SYNC^®** system. Preconditioning heats or cools your vehicle with electricity from the power grid, instead of from the battery^†. This keeps your battery at a healthy temperature when charging and your cabin climate just how you like it. This is especially important during the hot summer and cold winter months.

To precondition your vehicle:

2. Plug your vehicle into your charger. 

Your all-electric Ford will start to precondition based on how much you want to charge and when you want to depart.
